Greetings folks,

The super appealing Japanese Quadraphonic stereo systems are an all time favourite and probably the most in demand systems of our time.

I tend to get rather carried away with my descriptions so ill keep this one short but before I start I  MUST confess the rareness of this unit.

Virtually a non existent model, I haven’t seen this particular model before and quick Google search brings up nothing at all.

A try rare gem and let me tell you why…

In the 1970’s Japan was already ahead of the rest of the world with their affordable high quality stereo designs and mass produced items. They actually created the first true “surround sound stereo experience” called Quadraphonic sound. To be exact it was JVC that first introduced it.

So along came the 1970’s and Japan was exporting a wide offering of Quadraphonic systems from brands such as; Sanyo, Technics, Sansui, JVC and Onkyo. All amazing stuff.

Australia couldn’t quite compete with the price they were selling them for. So the end of Australian radiograms fast approached.

Big hitting brand AWA of Sydney Australia was feeling the pain and their products were not able to stand against the Japanese influx of units. So as a final attempt to stay in the game they actually outsourced this particular model from Japan and re branded it AWA QX-58 Stereogram Radiola. A failed attempt which only saw a very small amount of these units ever made. Cool right?!

I would put the design and cabinet construction down to a Sanyo clone with a bit of a quirky twist.

Presenting in pristine immaculate condition you’d have fun trying to find a single flaw in this unit, no damage to any of the original speaker fabric and the woodgrain plywood is I fine form indeed.

We have restored the amplifier and turntable ensuring workability’s to last another lifetime.

New LED light bulbs, new power plug, new genuine PRB belt, high quality audio Technica cartridge and stylus, new motor suspension mounts. The list goes on, I’ve spent alot of time with this unit and its paid off with how it now presents and sounds.

Also included is a matched Aiwa cassette player which has also been refurbished by us. New belts, heads and tape path cleaned and aligned. Demagnetized and ready to go.

It is now sounding as it was intended, damn amazing! Super sound crisp Japanese golden age sound. Needs to be heard to be mind blown.

Interstate Shipping available and local appointments can be made.
