Stunning lowboy mid century radiogram with the vintage sound to match, that’s fantastic!

Eye watering attention to detail, just look at that big brushed champagne gold panel with cursive handprinted lettering. A true testament to our early years of this great southern land and its furniture production.

If you grew up in Sydney NSW in the 60’s-70’s you will certainly remember seeing these beautiful pieces of art. Better yet you probably had immediate friends who worked for HMV in Homebush as they were responsible for the employment of 2000+ hard working men and women.

Thats right, made in Sydney Australia in 1968 this standout Radiogram is one of the most popular console units of the late 1960’s. HMV sold a large number of them. Alarmingly, a very short number left the factory with this gorgeous Rosewood-Mahogany finish. It was a limited finish available in Sydney and Melbourne exclusively. Every other variant was either Teak, walnut or maple.

Now we can happily say we have owned and restored ever colour option this model came with, this finish is our personal favourite. It has a rich reddish blend and a very shiny piano finish high gloss polyurethane coating.

Up against its siblings the HMV Sheraton, Tasman and Statesman. The Rhapsody has a unique sound superior to the rest. After all It was turn of the century engineering and the introduction of transistor radio they really did hit the nail on the head with this one.

Fully restored including all electrolytic capacitors replaced with high quality substitutes, all in cabin light bulbs replaced. All potentiometers and switches sonic cleaned.

It features a fully automatic one touch stacking record player, stack up to 10 records and play them one after the other with the flick of one switch. Revolutionary! Deep cleaned and restored back to fully operable condition.

Optional extra $ for a custom assembled smart phone compatible cable to play your favourite Spotify playlists.

Our units are carefully restored and we price them accordingly.

We are available for inspection by appointment only on the Gold Coast, we do offer interstate fragile freight options. Please reach out for a fast and accurate shipping quote.
