Well, here we are again. Another stand out Radiogram, they just keep getting better as we dive deeper into the middle of the century.
We are Retraphonics, a dedicated team of radiogram specialists based on the Gold Coast, originally stationed in Burleigh Heads we are now based in Molendinar.
This one has been in our private collection for around 5 years and it has finally come the time to set her free, freshly restored November 2024. Ready to kick on for another 60 years!
Arguably one of best looking pieces of furniture in existence! Better yet it is a fully functional vintage radiogram.
The sound that comes from this Radiogram should not be legal in suburban areas, it is so so so loud!
This Kingsley Radiogram was hand crafted in Melbourne Australia in early 1964, a small number of these made their way up to QLD. This is one of the few remaining.
Featuring a state of the art Valve amplifier with 6GW8 output valves resulting in crystal clear vintage tube sound! No amount of money can bring these back into production, Australian made valve Radiogram’s have a very distinctive sound of their own that cannot be duplicated with modern day technology. We have restored the amplifier to fully functioning condition including replacement of all electrolytic capacitors, light bulbs and a deep sonic cleaning procedure has been carried out to all potentiometres, valve sockets and vacuum tubes.
Also, Featuring a Garrad 1000 fully automatic stacking turntable, a rare model to be seen in Aussie radiograms. This is the original turntable that came with this gram and we have spent countless hours disassembling and deep cleaning all moving metal parts and re lubricating and oiling all necessary pieces of this magnificent puzzle that these turntables are.
With the ability to stack up to 10 records and play them continuously with the push of 1 button it is truly ahead of its time and you CAN NOT purchase a turntable in today’s market that has this feature. Operating in as new condition, brand new cartridge and stylus has been installed too. wow, record playing just became a sport!
But there is more, we have added backward smartphone compatibility, for an additional cost we can supply genuine apple/ Samsung compatible cables to play your favourite Spotify / Apple Music playlists!
