RETRAPHONICS presents to you the AWA Tiros vintage radiogram From the ever so sought after “Dimensional Sound” range offered from AWA’s 1970 catalogue of bespoke radiograms and television’s inspired by the space age.
Originally manufactured in Sydney Australia, this groover has stood the test of time presenting in amazing condition 50 plus years after it was born. The dimensional sound radiograms have a very distinctive vintage sound and they are known for their amazing attention to detail sound stage proving to be one of the best radiograms made in Oz in the 70’s . The unit solid timber real wood veneer.
Countless hours have resulted in the full restoration of this unit internally and externally including the following works;
Complete overhaul of the amplifier, all electrolytic capacitors have been replaced with brand new high quality replacements resulting in AMAZING sound reproduction.
All switches and sliders have been sonic cleaned and re lubricated. All in cabin light bulbs have been replaced with new high quality type A bulbs. AM working Radio .
It features an original stacking turntable made in the UK, state of the art fully automatic stacker system. Press one button and it will drop the record and start playing. You can stack up to 10 records at once and play them simultaneously.
The turntable has been completely disassembled and all moving mechanical parts cleaned and reassembled using fine quality synthetic oil and lithium grease. Motor pulled apart and re lubricated.
One of the more uncommon units from AWA quite a cool find and they surely are not seen often.
MUST be heard to appreciate how loud and crisp this one sings.
