KRIESLER!
The best in sight and sound
Restored by Retraphonics on the Gold Coast
We are ever so fortunate to be able to present this groovy little radiogram to the good people of Australia.
Built in 1971 in Sydney Australia By Kriesler.
Own a piece of history hand crafted in the best country on planet earth.
The largest manufacturers of Radiograms and stereograms goes to Kriesler, they had the biggest assembly line and made the best valve receivers all in house. In 1971 their all transistor amplifier’s were in full swing, they had truly mastered this new technology at this point.
We have restored quite the handful of these Kriesler models, they are built to last with high quality components across the board.
Including the Imported BSR McDonald stacking turntable from the U.K, simply load up a bunch of your favourite albums and play them one after the other automatically. Revolutionary engineering in a turntable design, they do not make such a versatile convenient turntable in this day in age. Fully restored and back to new working order. A Phenomenal turntable, simply press one button and watch the magic happen, equipped with a brand new high compliance ceramic cartridge and stylus.
But wait, we are in the 70’s. It has a built in Cassette player. It wasn’t so long ago I remember walking into the local department store to see such a contraption; a cassette player? What is that? I was blown away, simply by the sound quality and the convenience a cassette brings. Then came the microwave?! We sure were blessed with such an array of appliances back then. We have successfully brought this Kriesler cassette player back to life strapped with new belts and a clean tape path it is now playing cassettes with ease.
Thats enough tech talk, can we take a moment to appreciate the stunning hand woven wool on the speakers. Would have to be the most retro thing going around. The signature Kriesler colour way has always been a crowd pleaser.
Touching base on the cabinetry, it is superbly constructed with a real timber veneer. Glowing with a vintage dark teak stain it is truly a vintage relic in its original glorified condition. I would consider the overall cabinetry to be in flawless condition.
The answer to your question, how does it sound?
It seems like I am repeating the same old song with each spill that I put together, but the truth is being told. This radiogram absolutely pumps! As I said to my colleague, the first person to hear this will buy it. It’ll pay your vinyls louder then you’ll ever need to hear them, super impressive highs and a more then generous low end bass response. Australian full range speakers once again closing out the party.
Impressive onboard AM radio, additional costs we can supply an adapter cable to play your iPhone or Samsung through the unit. Super cool.
Shipping available, visit our instagram @retraphonics to hear it in action.
Local buyers please enquire for an appointment, we are located on the Gold Coast.
