H.G Palmers Flip Down

A beautifully restored 1962 H.G. Palmer pull-down radiogram, featuring one of the most distinctive Australian cabinet designs of the era.

This example has been extensively restored in-house by Retraphonics while retaining its original character and engineering.

The original valve amplifier has been removed and serviced, with ageing and out-of-spec components replaced where required. Controls, switches and connections have been cleaned, serviced and tested to ensure reliable operation and excellent sound performance.

The original Garrard AutoSlim automatic turntable has undergone a complete mechanical restoration. Old hardened grease has been removed, the mechanism cleaned and correctly lubricated, and the motor, drive system and automatic functions serviced and tested. A new cartridge and stylus have also been installed.

The cabinetry has been carefully cleaned, restored and nourished while preserving the original timber finish and character of the piece.

The result is an original 1960s Australian radiogram that looks exceptional, sounds fantastic and is ready to be enjoyed again.
