Secure one of the standout Australian radiograms of the 1970s before it comes through our workshop. The AWA Tiros Lowboy comes from AWA's highly sought-after "Dimensional Sound" range, featured in the company's 1970 catalogue of radiograms and televisions inspired by the space age. Each example dates from approximately the early 1970s.

Manufactured in Sydney, the Tiros has stood the test of time remarkably well. The Dimensional Sound radiograms are known for their distinctive vintage sound and impressive attention to detail, with a sound stage that makes them among the finest radiograms produced in Australia during the 1970s. The cabinet is finished in genuine real timber veneer, and as with any original timber piece, the colour of the wood may vary slightly from the photographs.

Beneath the lid sits the original UK-made fully automatic stacking turntable. Load up to 10 records, press a single button, and the changer will drop and play each one in turn for hours of uninterrupted listening.

As part of its restoration, the turntable will be completely disassembled, with all moving mechanical parts cleaned and reassembled using fine quality synthetic oil and lithium grease. The motor will be stripped down and re-lubricated to ensure smooth, quiet and dependable operation.

The amplifier will receive a complete overhaul, with all electrolytic capacitors replaced with new, high-quality components for clear, rich and reliable sound reproduction. All switches and sliders will be ultrasonically cleaned and re-lubricated, the cabinet light bulbs replaced with new high-quality bulbs, and the AM radio restored to full working order.

Every restoration retains the radiogram's original internals and character, so you receive a genuine, authentic AWA, restored the right way and returned to its original working order.

For those wanting modern convenience, our optional Phone Adaptor Kit allows you to play Spotify and other audio from your iPhone or Samsung straight through the radiogram's original amplifier and speakers.

Restoration is generally completed within approximately 30–90 days. Once your pre-order is placed, we'll confirm the expected completion timeframe for your Tiros and keep you in the loop with updates as it comes through the workshop.

Priced at $3,800 plus freight. Once complete, it will be available for collection from our Gold Coast workshop, with specialised Australia-wide freight available.
