HMV Scattergram Radiogram (c. late 1960s)

This radiogram is currently available to secure prior to restoration. It will undergo a complete Retraphonics restoration in-house at our Gold Coast workshop, including restoration and servicing of the original amplifier and turntable, with the cabinetry attended to as required.

Pre-order restorations are generally completed within approximately 30–90 days from order. Once your pre-order is placed, we'll confirm the expected completion timeframe for your individual radiogram.

A beautifully preserved Australian-made HMV Scattergram from the late 1960s, combining classic mid-century design with a versatile three-piece configuration.

Unlike a conventional single-cabinet radiogram, the Scattergram features a central record player and amplifier cabinet with two separate matching speakers, allowing the speakers to be positioned independently within the room.

At the centre is its original English-made Garrard 3000 automatic stacking turntable. As part of its restoration, the turntable will be completely dismantled and mechanically restored in-house, with the mechanism cleaned, correctly lubricated, adjusted and tested, and a new high-quality ceramic cartridge and stylus installed.

The Garrard automatic system allows multiple records to be stacked and played sequentially, retaining one of the best features of the original turntable.

The cabinet will be cleaned, repaired and refinished where required. The matching timber cabinetry presents beautifully and the separate speaker design makes the Scattergram an especially versatile piece for a vintage audio system.

AM radio is retained. For those wanting modern convenience, our optional Phone Adaptor Kit allows you to play Spotify and other audio from your iPhone or Samsung straight through the radiogram's original amplifier and speakers.

Priced at $2,600 plus freight. Once complete, it will be available for collection from our Gold Coast workshop, with specialised Australia-wide freight available.
