This radiogram is currently available to secure prior to restoration. It will undergo a complete Retraphonics restoration in-house at our Gold Coast workshop, including restoration and servicing of the original amplifier and turntable, with the cabinetry attended to as required.
Pre-order restorations are generally completed within approximately 30–90 days from order. Once your pre-order is placed, we'll confirm the expected completion timeframe for your individual radiogram.
There was a time when the radiogram was far more than a piece of audio equipment. It was the heart of the living room, the centrepiece where music, conversation and style came together.
The GE Westmont captures that era beautifully. Dating from approximately the late 1960s, it pairs a stunning silky oak cabinet and graceful mid-century lines with the warm, inviting sound radiograms of this period are celebrated for. It is a reminder of a time when craftsmanship and audio performance went hand in hand.
Secure yours today before it comes through our workshop, where it will undergo a complete Retraphonics restoration, with every element carefully inspected, repaired and returned to its best. As a solid-state transistor unit, the Westmont offers dependable everyday reliability while retaining a rich, authentic vintage sound.
The Garrard four-speed automatic record changer will be completely rebuilt. All moving parts will be cleaned and lubricated, the mechanism carefully calibrated, and a new cartridge and stylus fitted to deliver clean, clear playback of your favourite records.
The AM radio tuner will be adjusted and restored to bring back the warm, full tone of the original broadcast sound.
The original internal speakers will be carefully preserved and maintained, ensuring the system delivers the full-bodied vintage listening experience the Westmont was designed for.
The silky oak cabinet will be cleaned and polished to reveal its rich timber grain and distinctive mid-60s styling, making it as visually striking as it is enjoyable to listen to. As an original timber piece, the colour and grain may vary slightly from the photographs.
Every restoration decision is made to preserve the radiogram's authenticity while giving it decades more life, ready to be enjoyed in a modern home.
For those wanting modern convenience, our optional Phone Adaptor Kit allows you to play Spotify and other audio from your phone straight through the radiogram's original amplifier and speakers.
Restoration is generally completed within approximately 30–90 days. Once your pre-order is placed, we'll confirm the expected completion timeframe for your Westmont and keep you in the loop with updates as it comes through the workshop.
Priced at $3,700 plus freight. Once complete, it will be available for collection from our Gold Coast workshop, with specialised Australia-wide freight available. Follow us on Instagram @retraphonics to see and hear our restored radiograms in action.
More than a piece of furniture, the GE Westmont is a genuine piece of Australian audio history, soon to be ready to enjoy all over again.
